About Jamie
Jamie Plush Lauing has 14-year history with gymnastics, as a competitive gymnast as well as a recreational, compulsory, and optional coach. Jamie also has an 8-year dance background, which aides in perfecting gymnasts' floor and beam routines.
Outside of gymnastics, Jamie has a Masters of Arts degree in teaching, and she was a 5th grade teacher for 9 years. Jamie believes strongly in the importance of developing her students as athletes and beyond as well-rounded individuals. Jamie has a big family: husband, Tanner; four daughters, Rilyn (16), Aria (3), Ronni Jeane (3), and Kendall (1); and a son, Quintin (2). Jamie's strong faith led her to take over Excel Gymnastics Academy in DeRidder, LA in June 2023. God's Word for this movement was "pursue", which helped form Jamie's goal for this gym: seek to accomplish. Jamie is excited about growing the DeRidder and surrounding community in the area of gymnastics, and she wants to share these accomplishments with you.
Safety and professionalism are of the utmost importance. Jamie maintains an active Competitive Coach Membership with USA Gymnastics (USAG) and has completed all required safety training, certification courses and background screening.
